Q: How long has Coffee News been in existence?

Coffee News was originally researched and founded by Jean Daum in Winnipeg, Canada in 1988. Over the last 24 years, it has grown to over 1000 editions in over 20 countries worldwide reaching over 10 million weekly readers!

Q: Can I subscribe to Coffee News?

You cannot subscribe to Coffee News. It is a free publication distributed primarily at restaurants or any other place where you might have some time to read while waiting. Refer to the Where to Find Us page for complete distribution listings.

Q: Can restaurants advertise in Coffee News?

No. As a courtesy to all our restaurant and eateries distributors in the coverage areas, we offer the protection that no business in the restaurant industry will be allowed to advertise in Coffee News. No restaurant would welcome their competitor's efforts to take away their customers right inside their own premises, so they would naturally kick them out -- and Coffee News too.

We do offer restaurants carrying Coffee News a free complete location listing and web link on our website, showing our readers where they can pick up a free copy of Coffee News.

Q: Do I need to design the ad?

NO... If you already have a camera-ready ad -- GREAT! If you don't,  we'll work with you to create one. With over 10 years of experience in creating local, small business ads for print publications, the Publisher works with the graphic artists to create an ad, or series of ads, that will bring you results!

Q: How often do you publish and where are you distributed?

New issues are distributed weekly to restaurants, delis, coffeehouses, etc. Its purpose is to provide POSITIVE, ENJOYABLE reading to those waiting for their meals (seen by a high number of readers 3 meals a day!) or during any other wait they may have at a business. With Coffee News, there is no BAD news - only trivia, fun facts, local events, and other fun things that draw attention (like the chance to win cash each month). Q: How much is an ad?

Ads in Coffee News are less expensive than many other print media, so a small business can easily afford to advertise. You can advertise in Coffee News for as little as the cost of a cup of coffee per day! So unless another company in your "category" of business is already advertising in the edition, it is open to you. Remember all ads in Coffee News are “EXCLUSIVE - we only allow one type of business per category in each edition, allowing our advertisers to LOCK OUT their competition - unlike any other publication in town!

We strive to make Coffee News advertising available at or below the current print advertising rate for each area of distribution. Our goal is to give you more for your advertising dollar and provide VALUE that is second to none! 

Q: What’s the monthly contest about?

Each week, we hide a small Little Bill icon in one of the ads. To enter the contest, all you need to do is find Little Bill in this week’s issue of Coffee News, complete the Contest Entry form online or mail your info in by postcard. The information you provide is for our use only. We will NOT use it to send you junk mail and it will NEVER be sold or given to anyone else – EVER! Contest winners are chosen by random drawing and announced each month in Coffee News.

This contest is good for our advertisers as it encourages our readers to look through all of the ads in order to find the Little Bill!

Q: Why should I advertise in Coffee News?

Ads in Coffee News are less expensive than other print media, so small businesses can afford to advertise regularly. Also, Coffee News guarantees every advertiser EXCLUSIVITY. Q: Why do you require that the ad run for at least 6 months?

A good ad is like a seed for a fruit tree. Repetition is its water. Weekly consistency is its sunlight. The longer your seed is allowed to grow in the mind of the public, the greater and greater your harvests will be. What size harvests do you want to see?

Q: Can I change an ad now and then?

Yes, you can. There is never a charge for minor ad changes, which may be e-mailed or phoned in. It is recommended to leave the message for a month at a time, and a series of ads with rotating messages is a great way to keep readers engaged.
